INTRODUCTION TO ARCHIVES AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT - ZOOM SESSION

A CRASH COURSE IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ARCHIVES AND RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS LED BY MICHELLE BARROCA

Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (3 hrs)

FREE

This workshop is a condensed, virtual version of our Intro to Archives & RIM Workshop held in October 2023. Participants will gain an understanding of the key elements of Archives Programs and Records Management in large and small institutions, including necessary policies and procedures and consideration for electronic and physical records. Participants will walk away with information that is practical and realistic for their specific organization.

The workshop will be led by Michelle Barroca. She is a very experienced Archives and RIM consultant specializing in Indigenous records organization. Michelle has a long-standing association with YCA, providing workshops and mentoring for First Nations and other organizations, including the First Nations Public Service Secretariat.

This is a great opportunity to gain foundational knowledge that is widely applicable to many institutional contexts. It will be especially useful for those attending our next Archives & Records Management workshop in March, which will build on this knowledge and apply it to more specific projects.

To register, email Miranda (yukoncnclarch@gmail.com) as soon as possible as space is limited.
